AML & Sanctions Policy

1. What Candle Sensei is, and what it is not

Candle Sensei sells digital access to trading-analysis software and educational content — scanners, signals, chart analysis, an EA builder, a course library and, on some tiers, mentorship. It is a software and education merchant.

We are not a bank, broker, exchange, money-services business or payment institution. We do not hold client money, we do not custody or exchange cryptocurrency, we do not execute trades on behalf of customers, and we do not offer any means of depositing, withdrawing or transferring value. There is no balance to fund and nothing to cash out. A payment to us buys access to a product and nothing else.

This matters for money-laundering risk: a service with no withdrawal path cannot be used to move value. Funds paid to Candle Sensei can only ever be spent on Candle Sensei access.

2. Who performs payment-level checks

Payments are processed by licensed third-party payment providers. Those providers operate their own regulated AML and KYC programmes — including identity verification, transaction screening and sanctions checks — and they, not Candle Sensei, hold the card, bank and wallet data used to pay us. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, together with the limited details described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not attempt to duplicate that screening, and we do not claim to. This policy describes what we do on top of it.

3. Customer identification

Every account is tied to a verified email address, and access is personal to the account holder. For higher-value tiers, or where a payment or account raises any of the concerns in section 6, we may ask for proof of identity and proof that the payment method belongs to the account holder before access is granted or continued.

We may decline to open an account, decline a payment, or suspend access where that information is not provided.

4. Prohibited payments and use

No third-party payments. The person paying must be the account holder. We do not accept payment made on someone else's behalf.
No proceeds of crime. Funds used to pay us must come from a lawful source.
No structuring. Splitting a purchase across multiple accounts, cards or wallets to disguise its size or origin is prohibited.
No resale or sharing of access. Accounts are for the named holder, as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
No refund-as-transfer. Refunds are returned only to the original payment method — never to a different card, account or wallet. See our Refund Policy.

5. Sanctions and restricted jurisdictions

We do not knowingly provide access to any person, or any entity owned or controlled by a person, who is subject to sanctions administered by the United Nations, the United States (OFAC), the United Kingdom or the European Union, or who is resident in a territory subject to comprehensive sanctions.

You must not use Candle Sensei if you are such a person, or if access to trading-analysis or educational software of this kind is unlawful where you live. Determining that is your responsibility, and buying access does not make lawful anything that is not.

6. What we watch for

We review payments and accounts for patterns that have no legitimate explanation for a software purchase, including:

Repeated failed payments followed by a success from a different method.
Several accounts paid for by one card, wallet or bank account.
A purchase immediately followed by a refund or chargeback request pointing to a different destination.
Payment from a wallet or account flagged by our payment provider.
Any attempt to overpay and request the difference back.

Where we see these, we may pause access and ask for an explanation before continuing.

7. Refusal, suspension and reporting

We reserve the right to refuse a sale, cancel an order, suspend or close an account, and withhold access, where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached — without being obliged to state our reasons in detail, where doing so would be unlawful or would prejudice an investigation. Where a payment is refused or reversed for these reasons, access ends with it.

We cooperate with lawful requests from our payment providers and from competent authorities, and we will report suspicious activity to them where we are required or requested to do so.

8. Records

We retain account, purchase and correspondence records for as long as we are required to, and in any event for no less than five years after the end of the customer relationship, so that a transaction can be reconstructed if a provider or authority asks. Retention and your rights over that data are described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Age

Candle Sensei is sold to adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to buy or hold an account.
